报告内容:
Agricultural Engineers play critical roles in providing engineering solutions to support sustainable agriculture production and food processing in modern world. In this presentation, Dr. Juming Tang will share the latest (2020) survey results about research and graduate education of 21 Agricultural Engineering Departments in USA and Canada. He will discuss major challenges facing the agriculture industry, and provide an overview of the research and graduate programs in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at Washington State University in addressing those challenges. He will share his own experiences in bringing a laboratory research through scaling-up, regulatory approval, start-up companies to global commercialization.
专家简介:
Dr. Juming Tang is a Regent’s Professor and Department Chair at Washington State University. His pioneering research on food safety engineering has led to 9 US and international patents and global commercialization of advanced thermal processing technologies for control of bacterial and viral pathogens in chilled or shelf-stable ready-to-eat meals. He has trained 45 PhD students and over 50 visiting professors and scholars from different parts of the world. He has published over 370 peer-reviewed scientific papers with a total citation of 22,200 and h-index of 86 in Google Scholar.
Dr. Tang is a member of Washington State Academy of Sciences, and Fellow of Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), and International Microwave Power Institute (IMPI).
