专家简介(一):Prof. Dr. Stevan Stankovski is a professor and vice rector at the University of Novi Sad, and head of Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. His main research interests: Intelligent Systems, Mechatronics, Automation and Project-Based Learning. He is an experienced trainer and professor with rich experience in higher education and corporate workshops. Over the last years, he has been involved in numerous funded research projects.  He is managing editor in the Journal of Mechatronics, Automation and Identification Technology.

报告摘要:In the last decade the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), with sensors technology has been growing in all industrial and non-industrial systems, but in the last couple of years, connectivity has taken a startling leap forward. Connecting sensors to a plant-wide network enable control engineers and plant managers to monitor the entire plant on a set of SCADA/HMI screens from a central location or locally on a machine. Also, the concept of industrial connectivity of sensors has moved outside the plant like in the case of wearable sensors. All these facts have a huge impact on Mechatronics, especially on the design of Mechatronics devices. This lecture gives a brief overview of the impact of IoT/IIoT and sensors in a different area in Mechatronics.

专家简介(二):Sohail Sarang received his bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Hamdard University, Karachi, Pakistan, in 2014, and the master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering by research from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, in 2018. Currently, Sohail Sarang is working as Marie Curie Early-Stage researcher in the H2020 AQUASENSE ITN project in the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. His research interests include wireless sensor networks, including medium access control protocols, energy harvesting communications, QoS, and data transmissions.

报告简介:Wireless Sensor Network is considered a key technology for the Internet of Things and has gained significant attention in both industry and academia. Recently, energy harvesting techniques have emerged as a promising solution to overcome the energy issue for battery powered WSNs. In energy harvesting WSNs, a sensor node can replenish energy using energy harvesting sources and can improve the network performance by using the harvested energy. This talk will focus on providing an insight into energy harvesting WSNs. Next, to investigate Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols and how the network performance can be improved using the harvested energy. Finally, the talk will be concluded by looking into the application of WSNs in water quality monitoring.
